The Miss America depression glass is something that has had growth in desirability in recent years. Miss America depression glass has many things that require attention when looking for a quality piece because of the many edges and points all around the plates and bowls.

Just a little history on miss America depression glass. It was made by Hocking glass company between 1933-1936.

Some of the most valuable pieces have been ruby colored glass. As much as $1000 dollars has been received for rare pieces. Pink glass being the second favorite. One thing is for sure, and that is that you must make sure when you are paying a lot for different pieces, that they are not reproductions. Anything that is Cobalt is considered new.

A few pieces to keep an eye out for would be pretty much anything thats Ruby color, as well as the butter dish in pink which has been reported valued as much as $800 dollars. Also the green salt and pepper shakers. Pitchers of any color as well are nice to have and can be valued between $75-300 dollars.

All the colors available for Miss America depression glass is pink, crystal, ruby, and green depression glass.

Royal Lace depression glass has been one of the most sought after types of depressiong glass. Royal Lace depression glass was created by Hazel-Atlas Glass company from around 1934-1941, but has been reproduced in more recent years. The problem with this is that it hurts the buying market. Collectors that are looking for Royal Lace depression glass are weary of buying and for good reason.

One thing that has not been reproduced at least up to this point in time is the pink depression glass that is a part of this collection. The blue color however if found to be authentic has some very high value to it. Any of the 10 inch bowls in blue, with uniquely shaped edges have value well over $1000 dollars. Any Royal Lace depression glass pitchers you may find in blue as well are valued in the $400 dollar to $500 dollar range. And as always the salt and pepper shakers have high value at over $300 dollars for the blue.

All in all, there are a lot of pieces that have very high value for Royal Lace depressiong glass, and if you get a deal of $10-$30 bucks for just about any piece in any color it is worth it. MAKE SURE THAT IT IS AUTHENTIC.

Newport depression glass was created by the Hazel-Atlas glass company, and it was made in the mid 1930’s. Some have given Newport the nickname “hairpin” because of its design on some of the pieces which resemble a bobby pin when you look at them. Bowls and plates are the most desired pieces. These are valued anywhere from $20 dollars to $50 dollars.

Newport is interestingly not desirable for its pink depression glass as many other glass makers are, however it is desirable for a cobalt or blue color which is stunning. The patterns of Newport are not complex, and many times because there are no patterns where the glassware was most used, many pieces of depression glass look quite scratched. Thus it can be really challenging to find some nice pieces.

If you can get your hands on the salt and pepper shakers these are valued at around $75 dollars, and are always nice to add to a collection.

Pink depression glass by many is considered to be the favorite. Pink depression glass also has the most value as well on the market. Pink depression glass however is not always pink. The hues and colors of glass, no matter what the color may be somewhat different than another piece found. This does not mean that this is a different piece. It merely means that this is one of the great inconsistencies that makes depression glass what it is today.

This is what makes depression glass so special. The fact that each piece has its own uniqueness. Some pieces lean to the side, or are not 100% symmetrical. But this should make you love them all the more. pink depression glass will continue to remain the favorite as it always has. The black depression glass is really amazing to me, and I will be wiring an article in the future about that specific color as well. I hope you enjoy this site. feel free to email me at anytime.
