Old cafe depression glass is a nice type of add to collection glass. Primarily pink depression glass, Old Cafe was made by Hocking Glass Company between 1936-1938. Some things such as matching saucers to ruby cups have not been discovered as of yet. The different items that have been discovered are, a mint vase, olive dish, several size bowls ranging from 4.5″ to 6.5″, sherbert plates, dinner plates, juice tumbler and regular tumbler.

As for pricing of Old Cafe depression glass, as was mentioned most being pink depression glass, a tall juice pitcher is what has been sold for the most at approximately $500 dollars. A purple mint tray has also been discoverd, but there has not been put a price as of yet on it or its value. Aside from these the lamps of all colors are the most valuable depression glass pieces to collect, ranging from approximately $100-$300 dollars in value. Also of nice value would be any relish sets you could find.

The most value is going to be the pink depression glass, followed by Ruby depression glass, and then the crystal being of lesser value.

    HI,
I have a Hocking glass company pink depression glass lamp.I’m trying to find out what kind of shade would have been on it? I was lucky i found this lamp at a tiny junk shop. Everyone I’ve showed the lamp to has never seen a pink depression glass lamp before? I knew the moment I saw the piece it was a lamp and everyone else thought i was crazy. It has tiny feet on the bottom and a tiny hole in the top.So what else would it be? Then I found one on ebay just like it,but theirs has some damage not mine.It is missing the electical parts and what ever shade it had, but the glass is in mint condtion. Can you tell me what kind of top it would have had on it?Thank you DEBBY

Debby, I would really love to have a picture of the pink depression glass lamp. Could you possibly take a digital picture and send it to me? You could email me at jc(at)pinkzaz.com. I will be more than happy to have a look and see what I can come up with for you. Also, I would love to add your image to a gallery I will be putting together as well on this site.
